Danish road construction and civil engineering company signs the EU Road Safety Charter and take actions to reduce road accidents
Colas Danmark A/S has signed the European Road Safety Charter together with other European group members of the international Colas Group.
The objective is to reduce the number of deaths on the roads by at least 50% by 2010.
Road Safety is put at the heart of corporate culture To a company building highways, freeways, roads etc. that help people come together we feel committed to fight traffic accidents, and road safety has been put at the heart of corporate culture.
By signing the European Road Safety Charter the Group commits itself to further improvements, among others to set up a responsible driving programme and to create information tools for the entire workforce – measures that go beyond the regulatory requirements of the EU charter.
Awareness-raising initiatives and safe driving programme Many accidents are the fault of the drivers and bad user behaviour.
Consequently, the Colas Group’s programme include safe driving courses for employees, advice and ongoing information about road safety – altogether efforts made to support and raise the awareness of the Group’s employees as to become good and considerate car drivers.
